🦃 The Gravy Line Games: South Florida’s Thanksgiving Hockey Tradition
Thanksgiving morning isn’t just about turkey and touchdowns — it’s about The Gravy Line Games at Boca Ice, where players from across the AJHL community hit the ice for one of the most fun, fast-paced, and spirited mornings of the year.
This year’s edition takes place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, from 8 AM (puck drop) to 11:40 AM, featuring six teams battling across dueling sheets of ice in a condensed, high-energy tournament. It’s competitive, hilarious, and downright festive — the perfect way to earn that second helping of stuffing.
🏒 Game Format & Schedule
RINK OPENS 7AM
Each team will skate 2 games through a series of two 20-minute-period games, followed by a Championship Game for the top squads.
Here’s how the morning stacks up:
Game 1: 8:00 AM (North Rink) & 8:10 AM (South Rink)
Game 2: 8:55 AM (North Rink) & 9:05 AM (South Rink)
Game 3: 9:50 AM (North Rink) & 10:00 AM (South Rink)
Championship Game: 11 AM on the North Rink (1,2,3 vs 4,5,6)
Two ice cuts (per rink) keep the surface fresh, the pace steady, and the laughs coming.
☕ Fuel & Fun
You bring your skates — we’ll bring the fuel.
Coffee, donuts, and beer will be provided for players and spectators alike. Expect a lively bench atmosphere, early-morning camaraderie, and plenty of chirps to go with your caffeine.
🏆 Prizes, Glory & Bragging Rights
A custom Gravy Line trophy will be awarded, and additional prizes will be handed out after the final game. Winners don’t just earn bragging rights — they take home a piece of Thanksgiving hockey history.
